Covid. L'Inde démarre l'essai d'un nouveau vaccin, production espérée en septembre
Le vaccin Covovax est développé en partenariat entre Novavax et le Serum Institue of India. Les essais ont démarré en Inde, selon le patron de SII qui espère un lancement de la production en septembre 2021.
Dans un tweet, Adar Poonawalla, patron du Serum Institute of India, annonce également que ce vaccin a été testé contre des variantes africaines et britanniques de la Covid-19 et a une efficacité globale de 89%.

Selon un article paru dans thehindu.com, Novavax, société de biotechnologie basée aux États-Unis, a annoncé une efficacité finale de 96,4 % contre la maladie légère, modérée et grave causée par la souche originale du Coronavirus dans un essai pivot de phase 3 au Royaume-Uni.
